Another 55 dengue patients hospitalised (http://www.thedailystar.net/2006/07/28/d60728013018.htm) Another 55 patients diagnosed with dengue fever have been admitted to different hospitals and clinics in the capital yesterday as the dengue fever monitoring by Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) marks a month today. Although the dengue virus spreads during the months of May through August every year, the DCC began its dengue fever monitoring programme from June 28 that includes identification of dengue virus-affected people, areas they live in and trends of fever, a DCC health official said. "We are monitoring around 150 government and non-government hospitals and clinics in the city to locate the most dengue-prone areas," he said. Durin...... - 2010-03-10

» Rotating Movie Clip

Hello, I have an issue I'm trying to work out. I have a bird that is randomly flying around, but right now the bird only faces one way, wether it is going forward or backwards. I would like to get it to face the opposite direction, if it is flying in the opposite direction. (I hope this is clear). Below is the code that I have for the clip. I am new to flash 8, and I've gotten this code from one of the great tutorials here. Any help is greatly appreciated. onClipEvent (load) { //data you may want to change width = 640; height = 480; speed = Math.round(Math.random()*2)+1; //initial positions x = this._x=Math.random()*width; y = this._y=Math.random()*height; x_new = Math.random()*width; y_new = Math.random()*height; } onClipEv...... - 2010-03-10

» Fargo F5 Webpage

Thought I would share this interesting webpage from NWSFGF on the infamous Fargo F5 tornado of June 20, 1957. This event of course was one studied closely by Fujita. To my knowledge it is accepted as the farthest-north recorded F5, since sources seem to differ on whether the Ft. Rice ND tornado of May 29, 1953 was an F4 or an F5. The page contains some meteorological background, including modified proximity soundings. Over the past year or two NWSFGF has also collected a lot of first hand accounts from that day, one of them being truly heartbreaking. My aunt survived this storm as well, being only 6 blocks from the path and seeing garages flung into the air before taking shelter. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/fgf/?n=fargojune1957f5Glad to see t...... - 2010-03-10

» Is Japan entering the U.S. nightmare?

Someone from the LDP has proposed using Japan's wealth to shore up the U.S. financial market. A perceptive commentator has said this could probably turn Japan into the next Iceland, which has been severely affected by the global financial cataclysm. My advice--don't let the LDP touch the taxpayer's money. It has no understanding of economics. It can only make matters worst in its desperate efforts to stay in control. Aso wants to enact a huge fiscal stimulus package financed by what? Bonds? The gov't already owes about 1.5X annual national GDP. The service rate of the current debt at the current low interest is staggering. When interest rates rise in the near future, the government won't be able to borrow money at all and will ...... - 2010-03-10

Been trying to get this information out of Tmobile for a few weeks but they do not give straightforward answers. My mom has a contract with tmobile. She added me then she added my brother. I recently upgraded my phone but did not get th extended contract on it so I paid 300 bucks for the phone. If I were to break off of her contract would we have to pay any fees and would it mess up her contract, or would I be able to do it without any problems? I want to switch services. h8 tmobileEach line has its own contract and expiration date. A ton of explosives in a van and more stolen dynamite found in a home in the city. Quote the anchorman "enough to bring down an office tower." was found near a convention of french speaking countries here in Quebec City Canada. Couple that with the 2 bombs on the pipe line in northern British Columbia Canada later this week something is up, But the government and police are saying the 2 are not related and the latest with the van was biker gang related. I am not believing it, The war has come home for us Canadians especially since the find was quickly passed over and a lengthy in depth story about a politician steeping down was aired. The FBI seized a bunch of my equipment because my son was downloading kiddie porn. It has been six months since the raid. What do I need to do to get my stuff back? (I am a student) What can I do?You can go out and buy a new computer. You wouldn't want what's left of yours. (They're not going to return it anyway, What they removed was involved in the commission of a serious felony.)Stop worrying about your effing computer stuff and start paying attention to your perverted kid. I was at my friends last night in his shop. He plugged in a 2gal compressor in the same outlet he always does. When the compressor kicked on it completed first cycle. When it kicked on the second time it just hummed and sparked(fried). He also just fried a dremal in the same outlet two days ago. He's been using this outlet for 5years with no problems. In between dremal and compressor he used chop saw and drill with no problems. He thinks saw dust is getting into outlet so he keeps it covered with tape when not in use but some still gets in. No breakers have been tripping. We were thinking maybe a short in wire but wouldn't this cause the breaker to trip? Someone who makes me laugh is so important, and personality is the most important thing for me!depends on the girl....in my case i loved my bf's shy, down to earth for me manner....he treats me special..i like to be the centre of his attention...he treats the other girls normall...... - 2010-03-10

I was hoping somebody could remember the name of this book...I know this is a long shot, but what I remember clearly about the cover was a very sinister-looking surgeon holding a beautiful (passed out) in his arms? I think is was a thriller that came out in the 80's...any info would be appreciated! This may not be helpful but you might want to search novels by Robin Cook. Add: It occurred to me that you might want to also check out books by author Tess Gerritsen. Her novel The Surgeon is what made me think of her but it came out in 2001. However, she wrote others prior to that one. I just have no idea what the covers look like but I'm sure Amazon would have her books....... - 2010-03-10

Update - Today, 6/23/06, the problem was fixed. dan First, I've been away from the forum for a while, so long that my username is unavailable. Anyway. I've got two problems with my Ridgid DP1500 drill press and Ridgids "customer service" stinks. Before anyone asks, yes I do have the "Lifetime Warranty" on it - it was purchased a long while ago. I was told by the first "CS" operator that they won't send me parts and that I have to take it to a service center. I told her that I wouldn't be able to do that and that I've made repairs to my other Ridgid tools in the past in my shop. I have used Visual Smalltalk Enterprise (VSE), which is an object oriented programming language. It has a wonderful code browser. It allows you to see all classes in a hierarchical fashion, to highlight a class and see all its methods, to highlight a method and see the code. Having selected a method, a single click shows you all implementors of that method and senders of that method. You can also get a list of all methods called by that method. You can also quickly get a list of all methods that reference a particular class. And so on. The browser in VisualBasic.net seems extemely cumbersome and weak relative to the Smalltalk browser. On eBay I have seen several of them in auction type listings. Some are new and some are reconditioned but they are a good bit less than new through tool dealers. Can the SB600 be fired by the on camera flash? What body do you have? From D80 and up, the answer is yes. Just set you on-board flash to commander mode, then either use TTL or Manual settings. Bob's your uncle. If the on-board is set to Mode (--), it will not contribute to the scene and only act as a pre-flash for the SB-600 to flash. Make sure the channels are the same for flash and menu channel.Hmm... I have both a 600 and an 800, I always use my 600 on camera (or by wire) and have it set off my 800 when I use both. » TWO new cameras, in one week!

This post is simply an effort to share my happiness: I can't explain to you how I got the Diana clone - it's a big secret project that is too much fun for words. All I can tell you is that it says "Shakey's" on the camera, that it's from the 1960s, and that a number of us photobloggers were each given one of these for a project. The other is a Leica M8. It's equally hard to find right now - heck, a well-working Diana clone is probably easier to find. Unlike the Shakey's Diana, the M8 has a 28mm Elmarit 1:2.8 Aspherical lens on it. I think you can understand why I'm extremely happy this week. On Sunday I'm leaving LA. I'm doing a shoot for a series of portraits tonight for a photo class of mine. All 8 of my models will be wearing the same black, long sleeve shirt and sitting in front of the same background. The background consists of an off-white wall with a tall, bright flourescent light attached to it. This gives off a nice, bright glow. My model will be sitting about a 2 feet to the left of the light. I DO NOT want a shadow cast on their faces, though. However, i would like to see all the detail of their facial features/expressions and also a nice contrast with the black shirt they're wearing. I was wondering if i should have the cieling lights on in the room as well? They dont really effect the background area, but brighten the area behind me and a...... - 2010-03-10

» Why does the moon in the southern hemisphere seem tilted where the bottom seems visible?

I was recently in Costa Rica and noticed that the moon looked different. Rather than wanning/waxing from right to left, it seemed to be illuminated at the bottom. The Moon's phase is exactly the same no matter where on Earth you observe it from, since it depends entirely on the relative positions of the Sun and Moon. However, the angle the terminator makes with the horizon in different parts of the world depends on the relative positions of the Moon and the Sun in the sky for that particular location. From some locations at certain times of year, the terminator can be almost horizontal, as you saw. Someone else asked here about this a couple of weeks ago, observing from southern Florida....... - 2010-03-10

Well, I plugged it in and it showed up on the screen, then it asked if I wanted to update it, and I chose OK, but after a minute it said it could not be updated because it could not be found. And then I looked at the desktop, and even though my iPod was still plugged in, it wasn't on the desktop! I checked my iPod screen, and it was bright and had no battery left. And the lock symbol was on it. So I unplugged it, and nothing changed, as nothing did when I took it off Lock. Now I've plugged it back in, and it still won't show up, still has the Lock symbol on though it's not on Lock, and still no battery. What can I do? » How would I create an index for a portfolio of stocks?

I want to create an index for about 50 stocks in a portfolio to track their performance. I want the index to be similiat to the S&P 500 so that it will account for stock splits and other factors.google finance In a spread sheet maybe you could multiply the stock price by the outstanding shares then divide by the total. But that would give you an index that is weighted by market cap. Or you could just add up all the stock prices and divide by 50. Then if one split you would have to add an adjust factor to that particular stock as in for a 2 for 1 split that would be stock price times 2. That would result in stocks with higher prices having a greater influence. Or in a stock tracking portfolio where you can enter dollar amounts j...... - 2010-03-10

I was just wondering if a girl can teach a guy Japanese, or would it be better for me to get a guy to teach me... I'm thinking that if I ask a girl to teach me, I will probably sound female when i talk Japanese...e.g. Kawaii desu ne! And people would think I look like this smiley - What says everyone else?If it is a serious language class, you will learn standard, textbook-like Japanese and won't sound feminine, you'll sound like a news reporter. Boring, but not girly. Now, if you get a Japanese girlfriend and learn Japanese usage by copying how she speaks, yes, you will sound quite like a lady. My friend went on an exchange to a university in Tokyo 2 years ago and did some part time work, and said that he found it very easy to find students to privately tutor english to for 3,000-4,000 yen per hour. Would it be way too optimistic to imagine finding 20 hours worth of tutoring a week for around 2,500 yen per hour? Hi there, I am quite new to vBulletin but I know a little bit about the board. Well, I got a question. I know someone, that wanted a vBulletin forum. That's done, and now you may expect that the license of the forum is on the name of the person who payed the 250,00. But now the person who installed the forum is saying that the license is under his name. So he has got 250,00 just for installing a forum? I think personally that's not 100% correct. Now is my question, if someone bought vBulletin under his name, could he change the license to someone else? » For my 21st party i would like to have...?

a few games like roulette but my boyfriend says its against the law unless i hire the games out by professionals but i thinking of having the toy versions lol. so will i have to hire or will having toy versions be ok to have at my party?what about spin the bottle twister strip poker etc drinking games lmao them fetch memories backThat would depend entirely on where you live. If you're playing for fun, and not for anything of monetary value, there should be no problem. My high school had a roulette table at our senior party, but weren't wagering money on it, so it wasn't an issue. Since it's your 21st, maybe the winner can take a shot.. or make someone else take one.Against the law? Your boyfriends a twat. Get...... - 2010-03-10

» This guy... is amazing. has a gf, what do i do?

so theres this guy.... i know. sounds like some dodgy movie right? no. its just... about 6 weeks ago, i met this amazing guy. we had class together, and it turned out that because the rest of our class was on camp, we were the only 2 in the class. about 10 min in, another girl came in. for that entire 2 hours of class, he stayed with me. he sat down with me, he shared his coffee with me, and we spent the 2 hours mucking round and talking with each other. during that time we got to know each other really well, and he even told me about one of his best friends dying, which as far as i know he hasn't told anyone else apart from those who knew the guy as well. he barely talked to this other girl at all. this was the last day of term, and i...... - 2010-03-10

» Advice from step-parents...?

My ex and I were together for 4 years and split 2 1/2 years ago... He began dating someone else about 6 months after we split... She and I don't get alone at all... About 3 weeks ago he left her, she's pregnant and ready to have the baby in a couple weeks... He's a great guy and we both still have feelings for each other... He says he doesn't love her and he doesn't want to be together just for the baby so he left... He wants to be a big part of the babys life... My question is... How is he going to feel after she has the baby in a couple weeks... I've never been through this and I don't know how men typically act... Also, do you guys, as step-parents, think that this will be extrememly hard for me... ...... - 2010-03-10

» Playstation 4 is coming soon?

I wanted to buy ps3 but I heard ps4 is coming.... So If ps4 is coming when is the date 2009 2010 2011? Or I just should buy ps3 next two month or wait?!!!I have tried to search for a fourth version of it, but I didnt have any look. I would highly suggest buying the PS3 becuase it will be a while before a new one comes out. I can t think of any new technology that they could implement in a new system. Currently, sony isnt making any money off of PS3 yet becuase they have to sell it at a low price in order to sell it. I would expect around 2011 or maybe 2012.The news has been saying the ps4 is coming in 2011. If you can't wait that long, then you might just buy the ps3 now. It's still pretty good system. You can track all the l...... - 2010-03-10

» Desaturating in ACR

In Photoshop when trying to convert a JPEG into grayscale, dragging the Saturation sliders in the "Hue/Saturation" console should be avoided as it will destroy some contrast in the image. Does the same hold true for the Saturation slider at the bottom of the "Basic" menu in Adobe Camera RAW in PS CS3? Will doing so also destroy some contrast? You could offset that by increasing the contrast...but that's still not the best method for getting B&W or monotone images, IMO. I'm sure that a Google search would turn up several methods for converting images to B&W. You could probably find some ready made actions to download....... - 2010-03-10

» In my Lens

There's a tiny dust-like speckle in my lens, is it a large dust or is normal? my lens is AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IIVery normal. All lenses that are used outdoors eventually get some dust inside. The lens can't focus on it so it will be invisible in your images.I wouldn't worry about it. As fmw says it will not be visible. Normal use may move the dust to the edge of the element anyway. I have succeeded in moving dust specks from the centre of a lens by simply tapping it, although I'm not sure I'd want to try that with a kit lens. But again it's not going to make any difference to the images. In the worst case scenario, what if there are too much dust in the lens, not on the lens?send it off to be cleanedWe understood that...... - 2010-03-10
